As a professional Researcher, the main goal of my research is to understand how scientific processes are responsible for producing the interactions and measurements observed in the experiments and projects I work on. I use a combination of approaches and technologies specially developed for use in my studies. Learn more about my research and areas of study below.
Reaseach Interests
My research focuses on understanding and harnessing the unique reactivity of highly strained intermediates, particularly Donor-Acceptor Cyclopropanes (DACPs) and Bicyclo[1.1.0]butanes (BCBs), which possess high strain energies (27.5 kcal/mol for DACPs and 63 kcal/mol for BCBs). This inherent strain allows them to engage in diverse reaction pathways, including insertions, rearrangements, additions, and annulations, often under milder conditions than unstrained systems. I am interested in exploring the various reactivities that strained molecules can exhibit, as well as in synthesizing novel molecules with enhanced molecular diversity and structural complexity using these intermediates. My research seeks not only to deepen the understanding of strained molecules but also to leverage this knowledge to design innovative synthetic routes.
